IS&T 101: Robust Collaborating with Office 365 Teams

You may have noticed a new application on your computer that auto launches at the start of logging in — Microsoft Teams. Don’t be alarmed — a virus has not been installed on your computer. Instead, this helpful new tool will soon be available campus-wide.

Our video teleconferencing tool Skype for Business (S4B) will eventually phase out. All functionality of Skype for Business will be available on Microsoft Teams.

With Teams, you will now be able to:

  • Pull together a team
  • Use chat instead of email
  • See likes, @mentions and replies with just a single tap

Teams will become the core communication client for Office 365. As we get closer to the date when Skype for Business retires, we will offer training and support. In the meantime, if you have any questions or are interested in getting up to speed on Teams, please contact Jessie Rivera at jrivera@chapman.edu.
