Stay Focused, Stay Safe

Download the Panther Guardian app to keep yourself safe during those late-night study sessions. The app allows you to set a safety timer that will notify people you trust to check on you if you are alone or in an unfamiliar place. If you feel unsafe or are in trouble, it’s easy to call Public Safety or text tips—including photos—if you see something suspicious.

Operation Saferide is a service provided by the University to escort students, faculty, staff and visitors around Chapman University. It’s free of charge and easy to use. Simply call (714) 997-6680 if you need a ride near campus. The hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., and Friday through Saturday, 7:30 p.m. to 2:15 a.m.

Remember to keep an eye on your personal belongings as you take breaks from studying. Consider registering your laptop, cellphone, tablet or other devices with the Office of Public Safety. Serial numbers on these devices uniquely identify them, which helps authorities identify your property more quickly if your devices are lost or stolen.
