Funding earns three faculty researchers admission to ‘Million Dollar Club’


Three professors who conduct research and work on topics ranging from global change to juvenile law are the newest members of Chapman University’s Million Dollar Club, a distinction awarded by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

The honors were announced at the annual Faculty Research Recognition Reception held Thursday, May 12. The reception honors faculty who have sought and received external support for their work, as well as those who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship and creative activity in their fields. Members of the Million Dollar Club are faculty who have brought in one million dollars in external funding while at Chapman.

Million Dollar Club honorees were:

 

    • Jason Keller, Schmid College of Science and Technology, studies global change influences on wetland carbon cycling and greenhouse gas dynamics.

 

    • David Dowling, Dale E. Fowler School of Law, directs the Mediation Clinic and Juvenile Hall Conflict Resolution Clinic through a cooperative partnership with Riverside Superior Court.

 

    • Surya Nauli, School of Pharmacy, explores the functions of human protein and the alternative pathway in the development of vascular diseases by defining a new molecular mechanism for platelet/leukocyte interactions.

    • Marco Bisoffi, Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, and Schmid College of Science and Technology

 

    • Lia Halloran, Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
