Do you have a cherished chili recipe you’ve always thought would be a smokin’ hot cook-off contender?

The Chili Cook-Off and Tailgate is always a crowd-pleaser at the Chapman Family Homecoming Celebration.

The cook-off is set for Saturday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., and entries are still being accepted. Fair warning – last year’s winners, Mugs ’n Jugs, a team composed of alumni and community members, is returning to defend its title. But all’s fair in love and chili! Staff, faculty, club, departmental, Greek Life, local restaurant and community teams are all welcome. To enter,
register online.

And those who’d rather just sample the fare can choose from a couple of chili cook-off tasting packages, including one that includes a pour of Chapman Panther Brew, specially created for the day by Bottle Logic owner and brew master Steve Napolitano
’03. Purchase those tickets on the merchandise page provided in the Homecoming online registration form.

Along with the cook-off, Homecoming will include the Chapman/Toyota 5K Run-Walk, master classes, panel discussions, Day of Service, football game, class reunions, music and brunch. The activities begin Friday morning with Chapman Day of Service and continue into the afternoon with a wide variety of classes and panel discussions, followed by an evening of alumni programs. The 5K opens Saturday’s events, and on Sunday an interfaith celebration and Big Band Bubbly Brunch conclude the weekend.

A full schedule and details are available at the Chapman Family Homecoming Celebration
website.
