Senior Week came to a close on Sunday, April 27, with a new and memorable Chapman tradition. The Senior Ring Ceremony is a special event for students to be honored and recognized for all their accomplishments.  Friends and family were there to witness the 2014 graduates being welcomed into the Chapman alumni family.

Students were encouraged to invite someone special to join them in the dedication process and formally present them with their rings. Psychology major Rachel Humphrey ’14 was one of many seniors who participated in the event, and brought her parents with her to act as her presenters.

“My mom and dad are very important to me,” she says. “They have been the ones who helped me all through school. I’m happy that they were a part of this.”

The presentation ceremony concluded with all the students dipping their rings into the Marion Halfacre Fountain in Attallah Piazza, symbolically sealing the wearers’ connection to their alma mater.

“I thought it was really nice and very personal,”  Humphrey says.  “I enjoyed it.”
