Suzanna Adelizi, assistant dean of career services at Chapman School of Law, was awarded the Orange County Women Lawyers Association Everyday Hero Award. The award acknowledges those members of the association who make a difference, day in and day out, in the lives of others through their hard work, generosity and commitment to justice.

Kristin Beavers, associate director of Chapman University’s Center for Global Education, will make a presentation at Intern Bridge’s Online Conference on Thursday, Aug. 15. The conference is a distance learning and sharing event for North American college and university career centers.  The three-day conference is designed to offer the highest level of professional development to as many career services professionals as possible.

Co-presenter with Beavers for Going Global:  Special Considerations in taking the Internship Experience Abroad will be Barbara M. West, director of internships, at GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, an international education organization with more than 23 years of experience providing programs with individual student goals in mind.

Anna Leahy, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of English, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, had an essay published in Inside Higher Ed. The essay, co-authored with several other professors, is titled Creative Writing Is Not a Fast Food Nation and can be read at the Inside Higher Ed website.

Richard Turner, professor emeritus, Department of Art, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, has a show of his current work in the 2013 Los Angeles Juried Exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery in Barnsdall Park.  The exhibition runs through September 22.  The address is 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90027.
