Got a teen who wants to sing? Don’t miss CoPA’s summer Choral Music Camp

Call it the Glee effect. More and more high school students just gotta sing, and Chapman University’s College of Performing Arts has just the ticket. CoPA will offer its second annual Choral Music Camp for high school youth Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28.

Led by CoPA’s Angel Vázquez-Ramos, Ph.D., assistant professor, and Stephen Coker, DMA, associate professor, the camp includes mixed choir, women’s choir and men’s choir, as well as small ensembles in which students make music with new friends. In addition, students will have an opportunity to choose electives ranging from “Sight Singing for Singers” to “College Audition Preparation.”

The fee is $360 and includes tuition, cafeteria dining, music packet, camp T-shirt, all instruction and family admission to the week’s concluding Friday evening concert. Online registration has closed, but a few spaces are still available. There is no added fee for late registration. To register, contact Katie Silberman, department assistant at music@chapman.edu or (714) 997-6871. A limited number of scholarships are also available.
