Maps, antique atlases and world travel have long been a passion for Haradon McKillip Dillon, the 91-year-old patriarch of the Dillon family. So his family decided that a gift to name the Dillon Family Maps and Geographic Information Center at Leatherby Libraries would be a fitting honor.

“It seemed like a perfect way to honor our father and also our family. We named it for the whole family so everyone could feel they have a part in it,” said Pattie Dillon Sobczak, director of development for the College of Educational Studies.

Speaking at the July dedication ceremony, Kevin Ross, associate dean of Leatherby Libraries, said the gift “will allow us to continue to provide this valuable resource to our faculty, students, the community and researchers.”
