A summer song — conservatory’s high school choral camp still has openings

printDo you know a talented high school vocalist who’s looking for an artistic outlet this summer?  Chapman’s Conservatory of Music is presenting its inaugural Summer Choral Music Camp on campus June 25-30, and there are a few spots still left.

The camp is open to any high school vocalist, and will include ensemble singing in men’s, women’s and mixed choirs, plus elective classes in voice, acting for singers and swing dancing, among other offerings.   There will also be ensembles in which students will explore making music in a smaller setting with new friends.

The camp will be run by the conservatory’s outstanding faculty and staff members, who are committed to providing campers with an exciting, positive and rewarding musical experience.   The ensemble conductors are Angel M. Vázquez-Ramos, Ph.D., assistant professor of choral music education, and Stephen Coker, DMA, director of choral activities at Chapman.  The camp will conclude with a public concert performance on Saturday, June 30, in Salmon Recital Hall.

The deadline for registration has been extended to June 10.  For detailed camp information, fees and more, visit
