Director of Global Education James J. Coyle, Ph.D., has been named an academician in the US Section of the
Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
He has received this prestigious appointment due to his work on the Middle East, and on the Caucasus. The induction ceremony took place at the home of USC’s Professor Emeritus George Chilingar, the president of the US Section.
Dr. Coyle has already received a number of medals from the US Section, including the Albert Einstein Medal of Honor, the Crown and Eagle Medal of Honor, the Peter the Great Medal, and the George V. Chilingar “Scientists without Borders” Medal. Dr. Coyle also holds an honorary doctorate from Dubna International University of Nature and Man, whose President—Professor Oleg Koutznetsov—is also the President of the Russian Academy of Natural Science.
