Dr. Hall tells the Christmas story at Orange tree-lighting

What better than the mellifluous voice of Dr. Bill Hall, dean of Chapman’s planned Center for the Arts, to tell the Christmas story to the thousands of people who gathered in the Orange Plaza on Sunday to enjoy the City of Orange’s annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony?  To the angelic sounds of a mass choir made up of city, church and school singers, conducted by his former student Michael Short (who has been director of choral activities at Orange High School since 1982), Dr. Hall narrated the Biblical story of the birth of Jesus to the appreciative crowd, basking in the glow of the city’s holiday tree and zillions of other twinkling lights decking buildings and streets.  It was all deserving of a standing ovation, which the crowd merrily gave it!
