Get ready to be enchanted and learn how the artists of Cirque du Soleil create their magic when the Cirque du Soleil Entertainment and Technology Symposium directed by Chapman Professor Alicia Okouchi-Guy, Department of Dance, and Professor Don Guy, head of entertainment technology, gets underway this week at Chapman University.

The educational workshops that make up the core of the three-day symposium are just about full, but there will be two free public events everyone can enjoy. Two movie nights are planned from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, and Saturday, Oct. 22 in Attallah Piazza. The piazza will be transformed into a circus-like atmosphere for outdoor screenings of two documentaries that feature behind-the-scenes footage of Cirque du Soleil shows. Friday will showcase
The Story of the Creation of KÀ – An Epic Journey!
and Saturday
Alegría
.

Free snow cones, popcorn and other circus treats will be also be offered along with the screenings. The films are just one component of the symposium, the first of its kind at a university campus. For more information, visit
