Holocaust series continues with guest scholar lectures Oct. 10-11

Corporate complicity and Nazi homophobia will be the topics of two special lectures by visiting scholar and author Peter Hayes next week as part of Chapman University’s series, “The Holocaust: History, Memory, Interpretation.”

Hayes
, Ph.D., is professor of history at Northwestern University and author or editor of 10 books, including
The Oxford Handbook of Holocaust Studies
 and a prize-winning study of the IG Farben corporation in the Nazi era.

Dr. Hayes’ two lectures include:

  • “Corporate Complicity in the Holocaust: German Business and Nazi Crimes,” 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10, Fish Interfaith Center, Wallace All Faiths Chapel.
  • “Antisemitism and Homophobia in Nazi Germany: Commonalities and Differences,” 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, Fish Interfaith Center.

The series
is sponsored by The Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education, The Stern Chair in Holocaust Education and the Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library.

Admission is free and open to the public.
