Chapman University’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honors Society, has won the best chapter award in Division 2 (programs without graduate studies) for the fourth year in a row.
The honor recognizes the outstanding achievements of the student-led chapter, Alpha Mu Gamma, including an oral history project exploring Chapman University’s rise to prominence, now available
online viewing.
The chapter also hosted the Southern California Regional Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Conference, which featured as keynote speaker historian and California State Librarian Emeritus Kevin O. Starr, Ph.D. At the conference Kirsten Moore ’11 and Chelsea Judy ’11 won first and third prize, respectfully, in the undergraduate research paper competition sponsored by the regional PAT.
