A Comedy of Errors
? The Bard’s classic farce opens Thursday, Aug. 4, at Shakespeare Orange County, the county’s premiere classical theater company now in its 20th anniversary season, led by Thomas F. Bradac, associate professor, College of Performing Arts at Chapman University. Oh, and get out the Mardi Gras beads.
“We’re taking Shakespeare’s work and adapting it as it was meant to be—simply farce … with the addition of a Mardi Gras theme. Audiences should enjoy the entire experience,” Professor Bradac says.
The Comedy of Errors
plays Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:15 p.m., through August 20.
As an anniversary bonus, the company is also staging
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare—Abridged
, a popular parody sometimes called “Shakespeare on Steroids” or “Speed Dating the Bard.” Performances will be at 8:15 p.m. Sundays July 24 and 31 and Aug. 7 and 14. Directed by Professor Bradac, this abridged version of the entire canon of Shakespeare’s plays is performed in less than two hours, and features Neil Moutrey, Joshua Snyder and Jeremy Schaeg.

. All Thursday performances are “Pay What You Will,” where payment is at the discretion of the audience member. All performances are presented under the stars at the Garden Grove Festival Amphitheatre in Euclid Park, 12740 Main St., Garden Grove.
