Two Chapman University students have been selected to participate this summer in the
McNair Scholars Program
through Claremont Graduate University (CGU). The students include Njeri Parker ‘14 integrated educational studies and Martha Rivera ‘12 psychology and Spanish.

The McNair Scholars Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is targeted to serve and assist first-generation and low-income students who have completed at least their sophomore year of college, or who are from a group underrepresented at the doctoral level.

This program encourages students to pursue graduate studies by providing its participants opportunities to define their academic goals, engage in research, and develop the skills and student/faculty mentor relationships that are critical to succeed at the doctoral level.
