Elie Wiesel visit to include campus lecture, student meetings

This is a special week for the entire Chapman University community as the Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education welcomes
Elie Wiesel
, Nobel Peace Prize recipient, for a week-long visit to campus, during which he’ll meet with students in a variety of classes and give a lecture at a 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, film screening in Memorial Hall.

Wiesel, a Chapman University Distinguished Presidential Fellow, Holocaust survivor and author of more than 50 books, including the internationally acclaimed
Night
, will speak on “Knowledge and Ethics.” This is an extraordinary occasion, so there are a few logistical reminders to keep in mind. It is a ticketed event and all available tickets have been picked up. Those who did not get one in advance are welcome to wait in a stand-by line beginning at 9:15 a.m. at Memorial Hall. Chapman ID will be required.

No backpacks, handbags, cell phones, cameras or recording devices of any kind will be allowed into the auditorium. All attendees are asked to stay through the entire program, which will include the screening of the documentary
First Person Singular: Elie Wiesel
, Professor Wiesel’s talk and a Q&A.

Professor Wiesel’s visit is sponsored by the Office of the President, the Office of the Chancellor and The Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education.
