Professor John Eastman, Ph.D., and the Donald P. Kennedy Chair in Law at Chapman University School of Law, and Erwin Chemerinsky, UC Irvine founding dean and distinguished professor of law at UC Irvine’s School of Law, will debate the legal and national security issues surrounding the controversial
Wikileaks website
at a luncheon Friday, Jan. 21, hosted by the World Affairs Council of Orange County.

“WikiLeaks, International Law and American Jurisprudence: A Debate Between Erwin Chemerinsky and John Eastman” is the council’s first major event of the year, which opens with an 11:30 a.m. reception in the Tuscany Ballroom of the Irvine Marriott Hotel, 18000 Von Karman Ave. The two legal scholars are old friends, but their opposing views on a variety of topics have made for lively debates in the past.

Moderating the debate will be Andrew Sussman, a trustee of the World Affairs Council of Orange County.Tickets are $50 for council members, $65 for non-members and $32 for students, or $10 for students who only wish to attend the debate portion of the program. Registration is available online at the
