Catch a little opera with your football during Homecoming Weekend

The football and volleyball teams are working hard, the cheerleaders are practicing, the chili chefs are brewing and all those runners signed up for the Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K Run/Walk are carbo-loading.

We couldn’t resist checking in on the dress rehearsals for “If Music Be the Food of Love,” a gala evening of opera scenes Opera Chapman will perform during the Homecoming weekend. Check out the video above for a quick glimpse of the student talent in the show.  Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m., with special $10 Family Weekend pricing for all, in Bertea Hall 100.

(Opera Chapman will perform the show again Oct. 29 and 30 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. Tickets $10 to $15.)

And to catch up with all the public events planned this weekend visit our recent Happenings post. See you out there this weekend!
