Chapman University School of Law professor Tim Canova will moderate a panel titled “Corporate Domination of the Political Process” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14.
Among the guest panelists will be David Cobb, the 2004 Green Party presidential candidate. Cobb will discuss efforts by two groups, Reclaim Democracy and Move to Amend, to overturn rulings that money is “speech” and corporations are “persons” entitled to constitutional rights.
The program will preview some of the issues to be discussed a week later at the annual NeXus Journal of Law & Public Policy symposium on Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission.
The panel will be held in Kennedy Hall, room 237 A/B. Free tickets are available at the Reception Desk in the law school Lobby in Kennedy Hall and from Frank Alvarado on the 4th Floor of the law school at falvarad@chapman.edu and (714) 628-2610.
