Tickets to the Oct. 27 “An Evening with David Sedaris,” the first event in the re-established Distinguished Writers Series at
Chapman University
, are still available. Students can get the ultimate deal – a $10 ticket – by showing their current Chapman University Student ID in person at the Chapman Auditorium box office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All other tickets are $40.
Sedaris is the author of several books and unforgettable essays heard on
NPR
, including the legendary piece about his stint as a holiday elf at Macy’s. Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in
The New Yorker
and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” His newest book, a collection of fables titled
Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary
(with illustrations by Ian Falconer), was just released. The humorist will read his work and answer questions beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 27 and stay for a book signing to follow at 9:30 p.m.
