You spoke, and they listened. The programmers and designers who’ve worked hard all summer to bring us My Window have made some recent improvements to the intranet portal, all based on survey responses received from users.
First, they changed a handful of settings so that users won’t have to keep logging in to My Window throughout the day. The page will refresh itself, says Jim Jones, manager of web development, who’s been working with other team members to bring the portal on line. You’ll only have to log on again if you’re keyboard is completely untouched for two hours or more. And soon you won’t even have to log on to My Windows if you’re using an on-campus computer. Jones and his staff are making system changes so that the My Windows intranet page will automatically open as soon as users open their browser. That function is expected to be in place by the start of the school year, Jones said.
Some options to personalize the page – column arrangement and item placement, for example – will likely be added soon, too, Jones said.
And keep those suggestions coming by visiting

. Ideas all go before a My Windows governance team made up of faculty, staff and students.
“We bring them all to the governance team. We have people from all over campus and multiple representatives from different departments (on the team),” Jones said.
Jones expects many more ideas will evolve as the school year approaches and user traffic increases. So explore your own My Window page and watch for those new perks and features!
