Chapman alumna Whitney Drolen ’01 has joined the CBS 2 on-air team as the station’s morning traffic reporter. In an announcement of the new weather team and traffic assignments, Steve Mauldin, president and general manager, CBS 2 and KCAL 9 noted Drolen’s home-town advantage in the craft of traffic reporting.

“As a Southern California native who is very familiar with our local roadways, she will play an important role in helping our viewers find the best way to get to work each day,” Mauldin said.

Drolen began her on-air career in 2001 as a news anchor and reporter for the NBC station in Bluefield, West Virginia.  After a year there, she moved to Pittsburgh, where she spent three years as an anchor and reporter for the local ABC affiliate. She returned to Los Angeles in 2005 and served as a correspondent for E! Networks. Drolen also worked for KABC-TV as a helicopter reporter in 2006.
