Fire up the TiVo or just stay up for this one — it’s a Friday, after all — because we know it will be worthwhile.
Destination: Africa 2009
, a series of documentaries produced by Chapman University students that aims to bring visibility to the work of non-governmental organizations in Cameroon, Africa airs at 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 23 on
KOCE
.

The three documentaries were produced by an interdisciplinary team of students from
Dodge College of Film and Media Arts
,
Chapman School of Law
and
Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences
that traveled to Cameroon in June 2009. The films include
Shadows In The Forest
, which focuses on efforts to assist native “pygmy” peoples,
Eye To Eye
, which documents efforts to protect native primate species, and
Notre Joie, Notre Vie
, which profiles a group fighting sex-trafficking.

The project was led by Jeff Swimmer, associate professor, Dodge College, and was profiled in the
Spring 2010 issue of Chapman Magazine
.
