"Chapman Prime Time" TV Schedule Launches on The OC Channel

If you’ve ever yearned to watch Chapman University television programming just about every night of the week, your prayers are answered!  “Chapman Prime Time,” a new slate of Chapman-produced TV shows, launched this month and is now airing on KOCE’s award-winning OC Channel six nights a week at 8 p.m.   All the shows are produced by Chapman’s new Panther Productions, with Chapman alumna Marcieanna Jasko as COO.

Here’s the Chapman line-up!

Mondays at 8 p.m.

Dialogue with Doti and Dodge

Hosts Jim Doti and Kristina Dodge explore timely topics with fascinating guests.

  • April 12: “Conversation with an Entertainment Legend” – Oscar-winning actor Ernest Borgnine.
  • April 19: “Comic Genius, Part 1” – comedian and humanitarian Jerry Lewis.
  • April 26: “Comic Genius, Part 2” – comedian and humanitarian Jerry Lewis.

 

Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Arts: Coast to Coast

Broadway veteran Pamela Winslow Kashani goes on location from NYC to OC, bringing you the best of the arts.

  • April 13: “Performing Arts Centers” – Kashani visits the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa and Lincoln Center in New York City.
  • April 20: “Non-Profit Theatre Organizations” – Kashani looks at NYC’s Theatre Development Fund and Southern California’s Children’s Theatre Experience.
  • April 27: “Discovery Science Center” – Kashani goes behind the scenes at “The Cube” in Santa Ana.

 

Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

Cooking for Health and Pleasure

Jim Doti welcomes guests to the Randall Dining Commons chef’s kitchen to cook up healthy recipes.

  • April 14: Jim Doti and Ross Brandon prepare Lemon Cilantro Chicken.
  • April 21: Jim Doti and Chapman alumnus Beatus Mushi prepare Ugali (African Cornmeal Mush)
  • April 28: Jim Doti and Coey Leitch whip up Chicken Crepes.

 

Thursdays at 8 p.m.

Health Matters with Dr. Larry Santora

Straight talk about health and wellness.

  • April 15: Fibromyalgia, focal hand dystonia, energy drinks.
  • April 22: Common procedures in ICU, Lasik eye surgery, leg cramps
  • April 29: What to do while waiting for emergency responders, prostate cancer, heart murmurs.

 

Fridays at 8 p.m.

The Chapman Report

Ec0nomist Esmael Adibi hosts this look at local OC business and economic news.

 

Saturdays at 8 p.m. 

Chapman Shorts

Jim Doti and a rotating roster of co-hosts chat with exciting young Dodge College filmmakers as they screen and discuss their movies.

  • April 17: Doti and Adrienne Brennan screen and discuss Chapman alumnus Kevin Acevedo’s short film The Last Page, a comedy about writer’s block, with the filmmaker.
  • April 24:  Doti and Marta Bhathal screen and discuss two documentaries, Shadows in the Forest and Eye to Eye, with Chapman University student filmmakers Matthew Prouty and Hannah Taylor and Jeff Swimmer, Dodge College associate professor. The documentaries, filmed in Cameroon, will also be screened during the episode.

The OC Channel, launched in 2007, is a partnership between KOCE and Chapman University with programming consisting of news, public affairs and local events information, lifestyle, weather and traffic.  Aired on a sub-channel of KOCE, The OC Channel can be viewed in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and portions of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.  It can be found on Time Warner cable channel 235, Cox Cable channel 810, Verizon Fios channel 470 and on-air at channel 50.2.
