You are cordially invited to attend a FREE SCREENING of the theatrical film “Dark Matter,” starring Meryl Streep, Liu Ye and Aidan Quinn, this Thursday, Feb. 18 in the Folino Theatre, Marion Knott Studios, at 2:30 p.m.   We invite students and faculty to attend the movie and participate in a discussion about the themes.  The discussion will be filmed for a supplemental film project to be included on the movie’s DVD.

DARK MATTER is a film about a foreign science student pursuing his Ph.D. in the U.S.  Driven by ambition, yet unable to navigate academic politics, he is inexorably pushed to the margins of American life, until he loses his way.

Audience members will be encouraged to participate in a post-film discussion, moderated by President Doti,  regarding college life (academic stress, assimilation, social impacts, professor/student mentoring, etc.). Participants in the discussion may get their opportunity to be on film.  A panel of representatives from the Dean of Students’ office, Public Safety and Student Psychological  Counseling Services will keep the discussion rolling.
