Alley Cats give 2010 summer concert series a memorable sendoff

With the fluid harmonies of Goodnite Sweetheart,Goodnite, the Alley Cats said goodbye to Chapman’s 2010 summer of free concerts in Attallah Piazza on Friday, Aug. 13. The Orange County-based quartet lived up to its billing as America’s premier doo-wop group, tugging at heartstrings and provoking laughs and lots of happy memories throughout their set of songs from the ’50s and ’60s. The crowd wouldn’t let the Cats, perennial Piazza faves, leave without an encore, capping a series that also included concerts by classic rockers The Answer and the Beatles tribute band Paperback Writer. Our thanks to all who made this year’s concert series possible. We can’t wait to see the lineup for 2011.
