The Faculty Senate Executive Board is pleased to announce that the Chapman Faculty Athenaeum located on the top floor of Argyros Forum opened on Monday, March 12.
The Faculty Athenaeum is a space designed to encourage faculty collegiality. It is open to full-time faculty, senior administration, trustees, governors, and full-time librarians. Guests are permitted as long as they are accompanied by a person belonging to the former group.
Hours during the academic year are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. A gourmet buffet lunch menu by Sodexo will be offered for $10 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cash only at this time. Coffee service will be provided for free during open hours. Policies for use of the space after hours are being developed and will be shared shortly via a website devoted to the Athenaeum.
The Faculty Senate extends its thanks to President Jim Doti, Chancellor Daniele Struppa, Executive Vice President Harold Hewitt, the Board of Trustees, the planning faculty involved and Sodexo for supporting this project.
