Charlotte ’27 has been drawn to the entertainment industry for as long as she can remember. Now a senior studying Writing for Film and Television at Dodge College, she has built real industry experience well before graduation.
Two Internships through the Dodge Career Center
That path includes two internships, both found through the Dodge Career Center, which helps connect students to opportunities to build their classroom skills.
Her first was a literary internship at Atlas Entertainment this past summer. She worked as a second assistant, reading client scripts and providing feedback while getting a firsthand look at how the development, talent, and literary departments operated.
Before the summer ended, she had already secured her next opportunity as a talent intern with 42 Management & Production, familiarizing herself with clients and submitting talent for different projects.
She credits her Chapman education, in classes like Agents and Managers, with giving her the foundation and confidence to pursue opportunities like these. For students considering Dodge College, her story offers a glimpse of where it can lead.
A Close-Knit Community Beyond Dodge College
Chapman’s close-knit community has shaped her experience too. Last year, she attended a University Program Board (UPB) event at least once a month, on or off campus, and helped plan campus-wide events like Spring Sizzle and Fall Concert.
Through UPB, she was introduced to friends outside Dodge College who broadened her sense of what Chapman has to offer. She also found value in studying different disciplines. Her marketing class for non-majors has helped her better navigate the entertainment industry.
Scholarship Support Made It Possible
None of it, she says, would have been possible without scholarship support. It made a meaningful difference for her family and let her focus fully on making the most of her time at Chapman.
