Samuel Mirejovsky ’11 (JD ’14) was an established legal professional when he realized that advancing his career meant returning to school. But after visiting several colleges, he found that none made the process easy—until he discovered Chapman.
“Chapman saw my potential and allowed me to start classes immediately. The rest is history,” Mirejovsky said.
With Chapman’s support, he finished his degree and became a practicing attorney in just four years. By age 29, he was back in school; by 31, he was on his way to achieving his dream.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Chapman for changing the trajectory of my career and making it possible for me to complete my education,” he shared.
A double alumnus, Mirejovsky earned his undergraduate degree in sociology in 2011 and his law degree from the Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2014. His experience as an undergraduate and a law student inspired him to give back, ensuring future students receive the same—or even greater—opportunities.
Alongside his business partner, Ashley Watkins (JD ’14), Mirejovsky supported the renovation of the Fowler Law student center, creating the Sam & Ash Student Lounge and Rocky Recreation Room—the latter named after Watkins’ beloved dachshund, Rocky. The goal is to foster a sense of community and belonging for law students.
“We hope this space becomes a favorite spot for students—a place where they feel inspired, supported and part of a thriving community,” Mirejovsky said. “It’s our way of giving back to the school that shaped our journey while creating a lasting legacy for future generations.”

Chapman didn’t just provide Mirejovsky an education—it shaped his career. After law school, he and Watkins co-founded Sam & Ash Law, a personal injury firm based in Las Vegas and Orange County. The two met during their third year at Fowler Law, laying the foundation for their future practice.
“Chapman created the connections and opportunities that shaped my professional journey,” Mirejovsky said.
One of the highlights of his time at Chapman was learning from dedicated and inspiring professors. Their guidance, paired with rigorous coursework, provided an education he continues to value today.
As an alumnus, Mirejovsky understands the importance of student spaces. A welcoming and vibrant student lounge can enhance the college experience and even influence a prospective student’s decision when choosing a law school. This belief was key to his decision to support the lounge and rec room.
“Beyond academic and professional excellence, we want to help create a beautiful, student-focused campus built for collaboration, reflection and growth,” Mirejovsky said. “A great space can inspire and support students throughout their journey.”
Beyond his career and philanthropy, Mirejovsky remains deeply involved with Chapman. He serves on the Chapman Board of Governors and the Fowler School of Law Dean’s Council. In 2019, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award for his contributions to the university and legal community.
With this gift, Mirejovsky is ensuring that Chapman law students have a place to connect recharge, and build the same kind of meaningful relationships that helped shape his own success. If his story inspires you, join Mirejovsky in shaping a brighter future by making a gift to Chapman today.
