The Chapman University Black Staff and Faculty Forum (BSFF) is dedicated to fulfilling the academic, political, philosophical, professional and social needs of Black administrators, staff and faculty at Chapman University. The forum plays a crucial role in promoting a sense of belonging, advocating for its community and collaborating with university administration to foster a more diverse and inclusive campus.
Through partnerships with campus allies, alumni and the broader Orange County community, the forum works to enrich the university experience for everyone. The forum welcomes all allies and supporters from across the Chapman community who share its vision for an inclusive academic environment.
The forum is seeking new members from all parts of the Chapman community. Whether you are a Black faculty or staff member, or an ally who is committed to contributing to a more inclusive campus, there is a place for you in the forum. Your involvement helps to strengthen the community and drive positive change at Chapman.
In addition to membership, there are numerous ways to support BSFF’s mission. Attend meetings and events, participate in discussions, or contribute your expertise to BSFF’s initiatives.
Upcoming general assembly meetings, all held in the Hope Room at the Cross Cultural Center, on Tuesdays between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. include:
· Sept. 17: “Meet the New BSFF”
· Oct. 15: General Assembly Meeting
· Nov. 19: General Assembly Meeting/Kwanzaa Celebration
Contributions will help support the BSFF’s mission to foster a diverse and inclusive campus culture; improve enrollment, retention, hiring and promotion rates of Black students, staff and faculty; and promote, support and design initiatives and events celebrating Black history, identity and culture.
