Fowler School of Law’s Pre-Law Winter Institute was honored with the California Law Pathways Education Pipeline Award on Feb. 23.
The award, which was started by the State Bar of California, recognizes law-related educational programs that train and support students to become interested in the judicial system and law careers. The award is presented by California LAW Pathways, which works with programs that expand the educational pipeline into careers in the law. Chapman is one of 15 member law schools.
Fowler School of Law’s Pre-Law Winter Institute was first held in 2019, moved online in 2021 and 2022, and returned to an in-person experience in 2023. Over two days in January, attendees are paired with law students mentors and take a mock LSAT, get feedback on a law school application draft, take a mock criminal law class and attend a career services panel.
Attendees are invited to quarterly open house events.
