Chapman University’s Finals Week Survival Guide: Resources, Events and Extended Hours

As Chapman University students gear up for the challenges of finals week, various resources are available to help navigate the stress and demands of exams. There will be a range of events available and essential campus facilities are extending their hours to support students during this crucial time.

Yoga on Musco Lawn

Amid the stress and deadlines, join a relaxing yoga session on the Musco Lawn on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This event is aimed at providing a tranquil interlude before finals week. Don’t miss this opportunity to pick up new techniques for relaxation and self-care during the pre-finals rush. Click here to sign up.

Midnight Breakfast Extravaganza by University Program Board

To kick off finals week, the University Program Board (UBP) is hosting Midnight Breakfast on Monday, Dec. 11, from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Argyros Forum Student Union. Students are invited to indulge in classic breakfast favorites, enjoy refreshing drinks, and experience Alice in Wonderland-themed entertainment. No registration is needed, and UPB aims to ensure that all events are open and accessible to everyone. Fitness Centers’ Extended Hours

Both the Julianne Argyros Fitness Center and the Henley Hall Fitness Center will operate under extended hours during finals week:

  • Monday, Dec. 11, to Friday, Dec. 15: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 16, to Sunday, Dec. 17: Closed

Leatherby Libraries Support for Late-Night Studying

The Leatherby Libraries will maintain extended hours to accommodate late-night studying during finals week:

  • Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – Midnight.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. – Midnight.

Additionally, the After-Hours Study Commons will be available 24/7 until Friday, Dec. 15, exclusively for current Chapman students. A valid Chapman ID is required for entry.

Coffee at the Library With the Student Government Association

The Leatherby Libraries, in collaboration with Chapman’s Student Government Association (SGA), is bringing back Coffee at the Library for Finals Week. On the first, second and third floors, students can enjoy coffee, tea, treats and the new addition of hot chocolate. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available. Special thanks to SGA for sponsoring the warm beverages.

Rinker Campus Center Extended Hours and Therapy Dogs

The Rinker Campus Center remains open 24/7 for all students. On Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., OC Animal Allies will be at the Campus Center, offering therapy dogs to help alleviate stress and test anxiety.

As finals week unfolds, Chapman University ensures that students have the necessary support and resources to succeed.
