Jennifer WinfieldThe Class of 2027 just began their journey at Chapman! Several of these first-year students shared their majors, thoughts and dreams at Orientation. Get to know these new Panthers below.
Clarke Preston
Preston is studying film production with an emphasis in cinematography. ``I came to Chapman because of the amazing film program! I also wanted to be in California for industry connections.`` After college, Preston plans to get an internship within the film industry and find success. In the meantime, she's excited to make connections and experience college.
Salvatore D'Augostino
D'Augostino is a theatre major from New Jersey with an acting dream. ``I wanted to be a theatre major and by far, Chapman had the most incredible theatre program with everything I wanted. It was the best opportunity and I'm so happy to be here!`` D'Augostino looks forward to meeting new people and possibly taking on a double major. ``I can't wait to hear about different backgrounds and stories as I meet new people. Everyone here has a story to tell.`` After college, he plans to pursue his acting dream in Hollywood.
Gavin White
White came to Chapman to study screen acting and hopes to land a role on TV or film. ``I came to Chapman for the film school, acting program and the area because it's just so beautiful. It's by the beach and I love it!`` Other than film and acting, White looks forward to going to Disneyland. ``Hopefully after college I'll start auditioning for T.V. shows and movies. Maybe I'll direct a few of my own projects.``
Hana Bettenhausen
Bettenhausen chose Chapman to feel connected to her community. ``I've lived in the Orange County area all of my life and I just feel like Chapman is a good school that I could connect to. I also heard it's very diverse.`` She's most excited about meeting people and learning more about psychology. After graduating, she wants to pursue a career in either real estate, fashion or therapy.
Madi Baricaua
``I came to Chapman because of the community,`` said Baricaua. ``Students here are really involved with their extracurriculars and their major.`` Baricaua is a business administration major with an emphasis in marketing, excited to make new friends and memories. ``I definitely want to get my master's here at Chapman and maybe start my own business in California or Hawaii.``
