Chapman University’s School of Pharmacy (CUSP) and two of its partners were honored for their collaboration work at the Greater Irvine Chamber’s first Excellence in Healthcare awards gala.
The Jan. 26 event recognizes “outstanding healthcare organizations, executives, practitioners, and other innovative industry leaders who continue to serve and make advancements in the region’s formidable health care sector.”
CUSP, SCAN Health Plan and Providence Medical Foundation received the “Healthcare Collaboration of the Year” award for their managed care pharmacy residency program.
Assistant Professor Jelena Lewis said the honor was “very exciting” for Chapman.
“We are honored to be recognized for this large collaborative effort and we are excited to continue to expand and grow our partnerships,” said Lewis, Pharm.D., who directs CUSP’s residency and fellowship programs.
The senior-focused residency includes clinical pharmacist services with SCAN and working directly with patients at Providence, along with a research project.
