Art professor Micol Hebron

Chapman University faculty member and performance artist Micol Hebron was a featured guest on
Feminist Magazine
, a program of KPFK Pacifica Radio for Southern California. Hebron, an associate professor in the Department of Art, was interviewed about Gallery Tally, her ongoing crowd-sourced, social engagement art project that compares the number of women artists exhibited in contemporary galleries in relation to their male counterparts.

The interview will be available for 90 days at
KPFK’s online archive
, or can be heard at the program’s podcast via
iTunes
 or at
Stitcher
.

Hebron discovered galleries’ gender inequity almost by chance. As she continued to research, she began reporting her findings in the form of data visualization posters. Soon she invited other artists to join her, including Chapman University students and alumni. The increasingly eclectic and colorful collection of posters continues to grow. Read more about the project and see some of the posters in a previous
Happenings
story.
