Chapman’s “Relay for Life” Cancer-Fighting Event Kicks Off With Information Night, Feb. 24 — Join the Battle!

Relay for Life posterRelay for Life, is the world’s largest, most impactful fundraising event to fight cancer, is coming back to Chapman University in April — and Chapman students, faculty and staff are invited to an Information Night and Kickoff Event this week to find out more about how you can participate.  The Kickoff – featuring a Zumba warm-up, a performance by Chapman singing group Simply Vocal, and much more, will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Argyros Forum 119.

“Bring your friends and family — there’s going to be lots of fun, freebies, raffles, an incredible guest speaker, and free food,” says Danielle Ventura, community manager for American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  “You can stop by any time during the evening to find out more information about Relay for Life and how we are raising awareness and funds to help in the fight against cancer.”

Relay for Life, which will take place at Chapman on April 22-23, is a 24-hour fundraising event that celebrates people who have battled cancer, remembers lost loved ones, and takes action to fight back and finish the fight once and for all, Ventura said.  “It truly is a remarkable and impactful event that continues to inspire and unite communities across the world. It is through these communities, through the dedication and efforts of people just like you, that the American Cancer Society is able to save more than 500 lives from cancer every single day.”

The fundraising earned helps support groundbreaking cancer research, education, and prevention efforts, and free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them.
