Cyber security expert delivers lecture at meeting of federal cyber professionals

Cyber expert Todd Plesco, Chapman University’s director of information security, was recently recognized and commended by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Plesco’s recognition was for his guest lecture speech for DHHS’s March 5 Training and Awareness Working Group (TAWG) meeting.

TAWG is a forum hosted by Health and Human Services for cyber security training and awareness leaders to exchange ideas and discuss best practices. These leaders are responsible for planning cyber security awareness activities throughout the year and developing fresh and appropriate content for training of general end users and information technology security professionals. Each meeting strives to create meaningful discussions around a current topic in implementing cyber security awareness and training across a large and diverse federal agency.

Among the attendees at the March meeting were cyber security training leaders from Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, Food and Drug Administration, Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Inspector General, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and National Institutes of Health.
