Chapman leaders bring home 'Hot' and 'Quiet' awards in same evening

Both a student and a faculty member received awards at OC METRO’s recent awards dinner honoring Orange County’s top movers and shakers. Named to the magazine’s list of the Hottest 25 People of Orange County was Tilden Smith ’13 and receiving the “Quiet Achiever” award was Hank Adler, assistant professor, Argyros School of Business and Economics.

Smith is a business major who co-founded a pet product business with a high school friend and was won Forbes magazine’s All-Star Student Entrepreneurs “Most Likely to Succeed” Contest. International Pet Solutions’ launch product was a uniquely designed indoor outhouse for pets called “PetLawn.”

Professor Adler is a longtime Orange County leader and philanthropist who raised more than $10 million for the Hoag Foundation and served for years as chair of the Toshiba Classic. He previously served as the president of the Irvine Unified School District and on the boards of directors for Hoag Hospital, Healthy Smiles of Orange County, New Directions For Women and the Orange County Red Cross.
