Chancellor Daniele Struppa, Ph.D., at the upcoming Nov. 17 meeting of the Association of Governing Boards in San Francisco, will  serve as one of three panelists on the topic of the relationship between trustees and administrators.   The panel, on which he will serve with Pamela Eibeck, president of the University of the Pacific, and Debra Farar, trustee of California State University, will examine such issues as how boards engage in discussions about student learning and educational quality while respecting the prerogatives of faculty and academic administrators; and what role boards play in assuring stakeholders that the education offered by an institution is of the highest quality.

The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) is the only national association that serves the interests and needs of academic governing boards, boards of institutionally related foundations, and campus CEOs and other senior-level campus administrators on issues related to higher education governance and leadership.  Its mission is to strengthen and protect the U.S.’s unique form of institutional governance through its research, services and advocacy.
