Chapman University’s acclaimed John Fowles Literary Series will present a free talk and reading by Italian author Giorgio Pressburger on Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., in the Henley Reading Room, second floor of the Leatherby Libraries.
Pressburger is an Italian writer of novels and short stories and will be reading from his works, including
The Law of White Space
, which won the Independent Foreign Fiction Award in 1992,
Teeth and Spies
, and a short story collection,
Snow and Guilt
.
Pressburger graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome as a director and then studied biology at the University of Bologna. He worked as a director in radio and television, adapting the works of several hundred renowned authors. He has received many prizes for this work, including the Italy Prize in 1972, 1975 and 1988, and was awarded a musical prize in Hungary in 1975. Currently he is the director of the Institute of Italian Culture in Budapest, Hungary.
