Get those picnic baskets ready — summer concerts start soon!

Sunsets and the Alley Cats to return for Summer Concert Series.

Summer is here, so it’s almost time for one of Chapman University’s great traditions – the FREE Family-Friendly
Summer Concert Series on the Attallah Piazza.

The series is even bigger this year, with a fourth concert date, and as always a great lineup of classic and nostalgia rock bands. The Alley Cats, America’s premier doo-wop group, with a knack for humor and audience participation, will be back for a fourth straight year and will close the summer series.

As always, picnics, lawn chairs and blankets (but no grills!) are welcome, and free parking will be available in the Lastinger Parking Structure. The campus opens for picnicking at 4:30 p.m. on concert days, and all concerts kick off at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s the lineup – See you there!

  • Friday, July 29, The Nocturnes, Orange County’s award-winning and legendary beach and surf band.
  • Friday, Aug. 5, AlterEgo, classic Rock and R&B sounds.
  • Friday, Aug. 12, Southland Mega Groove, a tribute to California music, from “I Love L.A.” to “Hotel California.”
  • Friday, Aug. 19, the Alley Cats, back by popular demand, the talented and humorous doo-wop a cappella group that invites audience participation, appealing to young and old alike.
