Campus fundraisers underway to aid earthquake, tsunami victims

Chapman University’s Japanese Club will hold a Japan Earthquake Relief fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in Attallah Piazza.

There will be performances, as well as an opportunity to buy pins and wrist brands, with all proceeds going to relief efforts for victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

And there’s still time to participate in the origami peace crane project at the Interfaith Center. Last week in
Happenings
we wrote about the center inviting the campus community’s participation in the fund raiser.  Participants may stop by and choose an origami crane in exchange for a .50 cent donation, or fold a crane for a .25 cent donation. Of course, donations of any amount are welcome. Colorful paper and instructions on how to fold the origami cranes are set up on a table in the foyer of Wallace All Faiths Chapel. Stop by anytime — it just takes a few minutes to fold a crane.
