Jue named Independents Coach of the Year and Hood named to first team

The Chapman University women’s basketball team is coming off its fourth 20-win season in five years and they returned to the NCAA tournament for the seventh time under head coach Carol Jue. For their efforts Jue has been named Association of Division III Independents Coach of the Year while junior F
Brandi Hood
, senior G
Christina Ly
and senior F
Simone Ibbotson
each were named to the All-Independent team. This is the third Association of Division III Independents Coach of the Year award for Jue.

Hood earned first team honors after leading the Panthers this season in scoring (11.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.8 rpg). The Norwalk, Calif. native had five double-doubles and 21 games with 10 or more points this season.

  • Congratulations to Coach Carol and Players Brandi, Simone, and Christina. You should be proud of what you accomplished this season. Outstanding job! The players andteam worked so hard this year and are deserving of these recognitions.

    The team is exciting to watch on the court. The fastest and the most focused team around.
