Jeff Duncan-Andrade, Ph.D., a tireless advocate for urban schools and their unique needs, will be a guest speaker at Chapman University at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, in Beckman 103.
Dr. Andrade’s talk, titled “Note to Educators: Hope Required when Growing Roses in Concrete,” is sponsored by the College of Educational Studies Doctoral Research Forum. Dr. Andrade is associate professor of Raza Studies and Education Administration and Interdisciplinary Studies at San Francisco State University. He also teaches English at Mandela High School in East Oakland where he directs the East Oakland Step to College Program.
