Geraldine Brooks' "March" on tap for Chapman Book Club

Louisa May Alcott
— whose birthday is today! — and any opportunity to talk about good books, will want to mark their calendars for the Dec. 8 meeting of the Chapman Book Club for Faculty and Staff when the group discusses the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel,
March by Geraldine Brooks

In
March,
Brooks imagines the Civil War experiences of Mr. March, the father of those four little women who famously held down the home front and awaited his letters in the pages of
Little Women.
 But Brooks creates a deeply conflicted Mr. March, whose war time reality is far different than anything he ever shares in his letters home.

The group meets from noon to 1 p.m. in the 4
