Senior teams with Jessica Simpson to aid children of fallen troops

The Chapman University student who rallied Americans to send “A Million Thanks” to service members has once again gone above and beyond in her work to support military families.

Senior Shauna Fleming flew to New York last month for the taping of the Jessica Simpson Christmas Special, during which Fleming was presented a $50,000 check for her charity, the
Armed Forces Children’s Education Fund
(AFCEF), a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to the children of fallen soldiers.

The check represents proceeds from a bracelet that Simpson sells as part of her Jessica Simpson Collection.  The “With All My Heart” bracelet was a replica of one given to Simpson by an Air Force member while she performed in Iraq as part of the USO Tour.

“Jessica has been very generous to AFCEF over the past three years with her donations, but this one was over the top,” said Fleming. “This one donation will provide college scholarships for several students this coming year.”

, and will be aired several times on PBS stations between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
