In a new study evaluating the scholarly impact of law school faculty,
Chapman University School of Law
ranked #55, well above its #93 spot in the 2011
U.S. News and World Report
ranking of the nation’s top law schools.

The report prepared by the
University of St.Thomas School of Law
compared all of the nation’s American Bar Association-accredited law schools and then ranked the top 70 schools. The report is an expansion of the Brian Leiter Law School Reports which traditionally evaluated the top 25 law schools. Scholarly impact is based largely on faculty citations and academic accomplishments.

“The 70 law faculties ranked in this study have demonstrated concretely a strong collective commitment to legal scholarship,” the report stated.
