Free film evenings, insider insights at Dodge College


Here’s a perk to definitely take advantage of at least once or twice this semester – the free Monday and Tuesday evening movie programs at
Dodge College of Film and Media Arts

Both the Insider Screenings and the Sci-Fi Cinema programs are free and open to the entire Chapman community at large. The Insider Screenings include a Q&A with the fall semester filmmaker-in-residence, director and actor
Randal Kleiser
, whose films include
Grease, Big Top Pee-Wee, The Blue Lagoon, White Fang, Honey, I Blew Up the Kids
and
Flight of the Navigator
. Insider Screenings are scheduled at 7 p.m. generally every other Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Dec. 7, with some schedule changes during mid-terms and holiday breaks. On Mondays at 7 p.m. Dodge College hosts Sci-Fi Cinema, led by faculty member Michael Phillips, with special guests.

Up next on the schedule is the Sept. 7 screening of
White Fang
, Jack London’s classic adventure story about the friendship developed between a Yukon gold hunter and the mixed dog-wolf he rescues from the hands of a man who mistreats him. A Q&A session with
White Fang
director Kleiser will follow. Because of the Labor Day holiday, the next Sci-Fi Cinema will be Sept. 13, featuring
The Fantastic Planet.
