Librarians Lorraine Attarian and Gina Wilkinson were honored at a Tuesday retirement party laced with funny stories, teary-eyed toasts and tributes to their dedication to Leatherby Libraries.

In remarks praising both retirees, Charlene Baldwin, dean of Leatherby Libraries, said the two had made significant contributions to the enhancement of the libraries throughout their careers and always had “the intellectual vision to keep telling me what needed to be done to keep us moving forward.”

Attarian, with 11 years service, was especially instrumental in developing science resources, and Wilkinson, with 18 years, elevated the overall collections to such a distinguished status that scholars outside the campus community are increasingly turning to Leatherby for research materials, Dean Baldwin said.

Attarian has been the science librarian and the department liaison for Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Food Science, Health Communications and Physical Therapy. Wilkinson has been the head of interlibrary loan and document delivery services since 1992 and was responsible for the operations of lending and borrowing of library materials for faculty, students and staff at the Orange campus, as well as the Brandman University community.
